So happy for your friend “Bob”. I wonder what people do who have no insurance? Where can they go to get help? Let me know if you have a few suggestions in case some day I can guide my son to one.
Well in CA, those without insurance will usually qualify for state medi-cal insurance, and those people can go to a handful of "non-profit" rehabs in Los Angeles county. They are the former non-profit, long-term programs, but since about 2017 now accept medi-cal. Obviously in order to qualify to accept medi-cal these programs have changed a bit, but are still much superior to typical for-profit rehabs. And then there's always Salvation Army which is also a quality program.
